Son of a teenage single mother, Jack Sterling tried his hardest to make a success of himself. He looked up to the world’s greatest hero, Captain Courageous as a role model and wanted to be a superhero like him. After years of training and conditioning, he was almost killed on his first night out by the villain, Mortifex. Resigned to a life of a lowly graphic production artist at a print shop, he drug himself through life until the body of Phantom Gazer was flung through his apartment. He finally got the chance to be the superhero he always wanted.
